Project:  Comprehensive Plan Update

Client: City of Roeland Park, Kansas

Year:  2007

Project Description: Collins Noteis & Associates completed the Roeland Park, KS. update to their master plan in 2007.  The plan was based on a strong citizen engagement process that enabled the community to focus on the city’s strategy to maximize development potential on four key city-owned properties.  Mulitple options were developed and considered  that were designed to enhance this northeast Johnson County city’s gateway opportunities, capitalize on the opportunities surrounding a closed elementary school and evaluate the need for either a new or renovated city hall.

Recommendations also focused on redefining the city’s primary retail area, design guidelines for new development, and streetscape guidelines to enhance the pedestrian experience on Roe Avenue.  The Planning Team also included Bowman Bowman Novick of Kansas City.
